The Montreal Mushroom Festival is brought to you by a small, dedicated team of creators & fungi lovers.
Bala, originally from India, is a dedicated Yogi and spiritual seeker. His journey into the world of mushrooms began with volunteering on organic farms in British Columbia and Ontario, where he discovered the life-changing potential of fungi. Through his own health transformation, mushrooms became more than a passion — they became a lifeline.
As the founder of the Montreal Mushroom Festival, Bala shares his deep passion and enthusiasm for mushrooms with others. Committed to the myco-revolution, Bala's mission is to inspire others to embrace the power of mushrooms for a healthier & more connected world.
Sacha is the master of ceremonies at MMF. He feels that mushrooms of all kinds are ambassadors of a future in which we know ourselves more clearly, feel more deeply, love more openly, and live in greater harmony with nature, and is passionate about creating a platform for the myco-centric movement in Montreal.
He’s a renaissance man who’s lifelong quest for meaning & understanding has led him to explore yoga, philosophy, psychedelics, entrepreneurship, humanities, communications, art & design. Drawing from these spheres, Sacha is instrumental in shaping the spirit of the festival.
Georgia is an atmosphere artist, and a passionate designer who creates and decorates the world around her. She designs sets and lighting for theatre, stage designs for festivals, and immersive installations for events. She brings wild concepts and visions to life, and has a special interest for installing comfortable lounges and spaces for inspiration & human connection.
Her life journey as a visual artist, took her into exploring themes of connection, community, and how art and design can influence how someone is feeling, leading her to a profound passion for crafting spaces that foster connection, comfort, and engaged inspiration.
Françoys has brought together an exotic & colorful lineup of performers, DJs, and talent for the festival, and will be playing a headlining DJ set himself.
A lover of life, aims to evoke emotions and share his positive energy through his performances. He believes that being human means being able to live like a kid; to experience a childlike state of free self-expression at all times.
He aspires to build an inclusive and open-minded community, with a desire to play in intimate spaces where the impact of his art will have a meaningful resonance on his community.
Carolane loves to reinvent our perspective on the world. She dedicates her life to creating cultural experiences that blend art, sustainability, and education. Co-founding the Turtle Dance Festival in 2017 reflects this vision. As co-director of REVE Nourricier, she aims to bridge "alternative" culture with municipal initiatives to green Sherbrooke.
With over 13 years of experience in producing independent shows and workshops, Carolane is committed to facilitating a deeper connection with nature through urban and forest events. Her roles with CINARS and Imagine Van Gogh have honed her project management skills, enabling her to integrate citizens, art, and nature into your artistic projects, entrepreneurship, gatherings, and urban agriculture.
